Makisu began with a simple frustration: rolling sushi at home meant hunting down a mat here, a knife there, the right rice somewhere else — and half of it arrived in a size nobody could actually finish. So we built kits the way a good session actually goes, with the tools that last and a shelf-stable pantry measured to the recipe.

Everything we ship is designed to travel and to keep. Our food is shelf-stable and alcohol-free, with allergens clearly labelled. We don't sell fresh or chilled seafood — where a recipe calls for raw fish, you source it locally to your own food-safety standards, and our guides show you how to handle it safely.

From a first hand-roll on a weeknight to a six-person party where everyone builds their own, we want the box on your counter to feel like a small studio: calm, complete and genuinely fun to use.
